I'm aware of that since I'm (slowly...) teaching myself Japanese; it's just that since it was written in Hiragana on another wallpaper I used as a reference and I have absolutely no clue about the whole thing, I just wrote it in Hiragana, too^^"

thanks for the comment on "Machiavelli Redux". much appreciated. i agree, there's too much texture. will tone it down, maybe add a dark grey gradient overlay. here's the thing, i think cc's image in his eyes are distracting.

Because I'm doing graphic design at university, one of my main aims is to impress with the wallpapers I use in my portfolio. I've never really got the balance right when it comes to minimalist wallpapers. Besides, I love vectoring and I like making it as clear and as vivid as possible. I understand that it may not go with people's icons, and surely thats the whole point of wallpapers... But I would hope that when people download my wallpapers, a) they dont have loads of icons covering it :P and b) they want to stare at it to admire whatever detail is within.

But I certainly understand what you're saying. I'll certainly think about what you've said in future wallpapers. I guess the next one will be "the same old" because I really want to focus on detail again. But I'll try to make the background blend in better with the characters.
